Hunting

Belwin conducts annual hunts on its property to control the size of the resident deer herd in the interest of ecological management. These hunts are conducted by the Metro Bowhunters Resource Base (MBRB) and are not open to the public.

Nobody but MBRB hunters are permitted to hunt on Belwin property.

MBRB hunters are skilled archers and must pass safety and accuracy tests. They have a history of safe, successful and well-managed hunts in many metro-area parks. For information on joining the MBRB and participating in future similar hunts, please contact them directly.

Controlled Deer Hunts will occur on:

  • October 23-25
  • November 20-23

During those times, the Sauers Pond Site will be closed to hiking.
